A short marked mountain path from the Weissfluhjoch top station of the Parsennbahn funicular (about 2,660 m) over gravel, scree and easy rock to the Weissfluh summit (2,843 m) and the Berghaus Weissfluhgipfel. About 200 m of ascent and 45 minutes; the Gipfelbahn cable car offers a lift alternative.

Take the Parsennbahn funicular from Davos Dorf in two sections via the Höhenweg middle station (2,218 m) to the Weissfluhjoch. From the top station follow the white-red-white marked path west, the signpost giving about 45 minutes to the Weissfluhgipfel. The path climbs about 200 m through the ski-area installations on gravel and scree, with a few easy rocky steps, to the summit plateau with the Berghaus Weissfluhgipfel (panorama restaurant), the top station of the Gipfelbahn cable car and a military installation. Descend the same way, or take the Gipfelbahn down to the Weissfluhjoch. Longer walks continue from the Weissfluhjoch down the Dorftälli to the Höhenweg station (T2, 1–1½ hours), along the Felsenweg to the Strelapass and the Schatzalp, or to Klosters via Gotschnagrat. On foot from Davos Dorf (about 1,560 m) the full ascent is about 1,300 m via the Höhenweg and the Dorftälli. On fine summer days expect crowds; the scenery near the joch is dominated by ski lifts, but the summit view reaches over Davos, the Prättigau and towards Arosa.

Overview

The 2,843 m summit above Davos, highest point of the Parsenn ski area, reached by funicular and cable car or by a 45-minute T2 path from the Weissfluhjoch. A restaurant summit with a wide view over Davos, the Prättigau and Arosa.

The Weissfluh (Weissflue, Weissfluhgipfel) rises north-west of Davos on the boundary of the Plessur Alps, where the territories of Davos, Klosters and Arosa meet. It is the highest point of the Davos Klosters Mountains ski area: the Parsennbahn funicular climbs from Davos Dorf to the Weissfluhjoch, and the Gipfelbahn cable car, which runs year-round (683 m long), completes the ascent to the summit, which also has a military base and the Berghaus Weissfluhgipfel restaurant.

For walkers it is one of the easiest 2,800 m summits in Switzerland: a short marked path from the Weissfluhjoch over scree and easy rock. The setting near the joch is heavily developed, but the summit view is extensive. The Weissfluhjoch is also the start of several longer walks down to Davos, the Schatzalp, Klosters or Langwies.

In winter the summit is a ski area peak, and ski tourers use it for traverses towards Arosa and Langwies.

Climbing Notes

Any reasonably fit walker with hiking boots can reach the summit from the Weissfluhjoch in about 45 minutes. Take warm clothing: it is often cold and windy at 2,800 m. Check the Parsennbahn timetable, which runs in summer roughly from late June to early September (27 June – 7 September in 2026) and in winter from mid-November to early April.

To make a full day, combine the summit with a walk down from the Weissfluhjoch to the Höhenweg station, along the Panoramaweg, or via the Strelapass to the Schatzalp. Outside the lift seasons the ascent from Davos on foot is about 1,300 m.

The Berghaus Weissfluhgipfel is open during the summer lift season (20 June – 6 September in 2026) and in winter; breakfast can be booked the day before.
