A high start at about 1,150 m on the Brude construction road above Bjorli makes this 1,964 m peak a half-day outing: pathless scree north-east past small lakes to the saddle between Børa and Kleneggen, up to the 1,933 m south top, then about 1 km along a broad stony ridge with sheer drops on the east side to the summit cairn. About 2½ hours up, 4½–5 hours return.
About 100% of this line is approximate (no mapped trail; drawn from the terrain). Check it against a map before relying on it.

Leave the E136 about 4.6 km north-west of Bjorli at the sign for Brude, and after 1.8 km take the uphill fork onto the construction road (free in 2011; steep, washboard sections, probably closed in winter). After about 9.5 km park at Kaldåtjønna beside Danielbua, near a small bridge, at about 1,150 m. There is no marked path. Head east/north-east, keeping lake 1379/1380 on your left, to the saddle at about 1,438 m (about 1 hour); do not turn east too early, as steep cliffs that are easy to miss on the map lie below the ridge. From there aim for the lowest point of the ridge between Børa (1,916 m) and Kleneggen's south top, at about 1,830 m; the scree to this notch is firm but tiring. prominent-mountains.no describes an alternative line up the side valley behind Kaldhøa and past lake 1395, where small cliffs are best avoided slightly south of the Kaldbottinden–Børa saddle. From the notch, climb scree well left of the cliffs to point 1933 (the south top), then follow the broad, stony summit ridge about 1–1.3 km north-east, dipping to about 1,910 m, to the summit cairn with a logbook. The ridge has steep cliffs on the south-east side and a couple of cuts into it that need care in fog. The view drops 1,900 m to Eikesdalsvatnet. Descend the same way, or go south almost to the Kaldbottinden saddle, west into Kaldbotn and down the north side of Kaldåa, which one author found less steep and more stable. Børa is an easy side trip from the notch.

Route confidence 40%Overview
The highest point of Molde municipality (1,964 m), a long stony ridge between Eikesdalen and Romsdalen whose north end drops about 1,900 m to Eikesdalsvatnet. A construction road to 1,150 m makes it a pathless but straightforward half-day scree walk.
Kleneggen, also called Høgbøra, rises between the Eikesdalen valley and Verma in Romsdalen, on the border region of Molde (formerly Nesset) and Rauma municipalities in Møre og Romsdal. With 1,105 m of prominence and 33 km to the nearest higher peak (Puttegga), it dominates a wild area of scree-covered plateaus, small glaciers and steep cliffs above Eikesdalsvatnet.
A hydro-power construction road from Brude, near Bjorli on the E136, climbs to about 1,150 m at Kaldåtjønna, so the ascent is only about 800–1,000 m. The route is pathless: scree and boulder fields lead past small lakes to a notch between Børa and Kleneggen, and a broad stony ridge with sheer drops on its east side leads to the summit cairn. Views stretch to Tafjordfjella, Romsdalen, Trollheimen, Dovrefjell and Rondane.
It is also a spring ski tour from the same road. In fog the cliffs that line the route and the hard-to-find ridge notch make careful navigation essential.
Climbing Notes
A fit hiker needs about 2½ hours up and 4½–5 hours return, with continuous scree and boulders and no path. Carry a map, compass and GPS, and save a waypoint at the ridge notch for the descent in case cloud comes in. The construction road is steep and rough in places and probably closed in winter; check access before driving. Spring ski ascents need avalanche equipment and judgement. No guide is needed in summer for experienced mountain walkers.
History
The first recorded ascent was in 1884 (Wikipedia; climbers not named).
